Meals on Wheels Benefit Brunch
Join us on Saturday, May 2nd, for a celebration of food and community benefitting Montco SAAC's Ambler, Eastern Montgomery County and Norristown Meals on Wheels programs. We serve approximately 300 seniors 2 meals per day, allowing them to maintain independence and vitality as they age in place in their own homes.
The Benefit Brunch begins at 10:00 a.m. with a reception and silent auction featuring various culinary delights. Our featured guest, food writer, canning teacher, author of foodinjars.com and Center City, Philadelphia local, Marisa McClellan, will be available to sign copies of her books Food in Jars: Preserving in Small Batches Year Round and Preserving by the Pint: Quick Seasonal Canning for Small Spaces. After brunch, Marisa will give a presentation celebrating the connections fostered by sharing food through her experiences as an active member of her local food system.
In addition to a great speaker and beautiful brunch, the Montgomery County Community College Culinary Arts Institute is supporting our event. Special food tastings and a silent auction item from the Institute will be featured. The MCCC CAI is under the direction of Chef Francine Marz, MBA, CEC and she and her staff and students will contribute to this part of the day. The event will be held 10:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. at Normandy Farm Hotel & Conference Center 1401 Morris Road, Blue Bell, PA 19422.
