Bothism: Spoken Word Masterclass with Tanya Evanson
This workshop explores the importance of both silence and sound in the creation of spoken word - from meditation, to magical editing, to the many possibilities of the vocal body in performance. Tanya Evanson is a poet, performer, producer and educator. In performance since 1996, she has published six artist books of poetry, three spoken wor.l.d music albums, most recently Language for Gods, and an award-winning videopoem. She directs Banff Centre Spoken Word, moonlights as a whirling dervish and lives multilingually in Montreal.
Only a maximum of 20 registrations are available for this exclusive workshop experience. Box office and Will Call will open with doors at 2:30pm. Box office is CASH ONLY. There is an ATM located in the building.
Advance registrations are NOT mailed out they can be picked up at the Will Call station at the venue. Box office and Will Call will open with doors at 2:30pm. Workshop registrations are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
Festival passes do NOT give you access to masterclasses. They are the only events that require separate registration.

Havana Theatre is an accessible venue. To reach the theatre, you must pass through the restaurant to the gallery space. On the right, is a black door leading into the theatre. There is a narrow hallway and two doors to access the performance space, but no stairs.
