Restoration Farm Arts: Gene Casey and The Lone Sharks

For over 25 years fronting the Lone Sharks, the tri-state area's premier roots rock & roll band, songwriter & guitarist GENE CASEY has "played and torn up -- virtually every roadhouse, bar, and honky-tonk from Manhattan to Montauk ("Bop" Magazine), backed up legends like Sleepy LaBeef and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Wanda Jackson, and produced several CDs of self-penned songs which reflect an original take on the classic rockabilly, C&W and R&B tradition. Late 2012 saw the release of the acclaimed "Untrained" which gained airplay on college and alternative music stations in the US and overseas, where authentic American rock & roll has never gone out of style.

In recent years Gene's songs have been featured on the soundtracks to feature films (2012's "The Tall Man" starring Jessica Biel; 2013's "Killing Season" starring Robert DeNiro), television (The FX Network's "Sons of Anarchy" and numerous episodes of "Justified") and a song, "She Drives Too Fast", performed on NPR's "A Prairie Home Companion" starring Garrison Keillor.

Howard Thompson, musical director for WPKN-FM (Bridgeport, CT) reviewed a recent show: "whether taking on rockabilly, country, western swing or the blues, Gene and the boys performed like they were sharing the bill with Buddy Holly. Tunes made famous by Chuck Berry, Duane Eddy, Bo Diddley and others mingled with homegrown originals, and every thing fit seamlessly."
