72 HOUR SLEEP-LESS-MAKE-MORE FILM FESTIVAL - ENTRY FEE KICK-OFF EVENT
The aim of the New Parkway Theater's Sleep-Less-Make-More Project is to tap into the restlessly creative community of Bay Area filmmakers. By providing a narrow window of time to move through the pre-production, production, and post-production stages of filmmaking, we hope to catalyze the creative process, weeding out the excess and getting right down to it. As a community space we hope to both engage our local artists and celebrate their efforts with a film festival that showcases their tireless collaborations.
The way this works is you pay your entry fee and come down to the theater 4/30/2015 @ 9:30pm where genres, props, and dialogue are unveiled. Once this happens, the participating teams will have 3 days to turn in their submission, on DVD, Blu-ray, or self-contained Quicktime file, before midnight on 5/3/2015.

THE NEW PARKWAY THEATER is a community-centered cinema and pub located in Oakland's Uptown district. Sit back and relax in our cozy couches while watching our new releases, cult classics, and fabulous special programming. Plus, enjoy yummy food and local beer and wine in our café or even delivered right to your theater seat all at affordable prices!
Every week we have something for everyone... from Doc Night to Baby Brigade and Nerd Nite to Party at the Parkway, and everything in between. Also, join us on the mezzanine for free, non-film events like Open Mic Mondays, Bingo and Beer Tuesdays, Pop-Up Art Wednesdays, Trivia Thursdays, and First Fridays.
