Rear Window Listening Room presents FUTURE OF FORESTRY
FUTURE OF FORESTRY'S ADVENT CHRISTMAS CONCERT 2010
Is a Christmas concert experience incorporating ambient rock music with unique instrumentation such as cello, violin, vibraphone, glockenspiel, harmonium, and more.
Future of Forestry presents inventive and emotional songs from the "Travel" series along with unique arrangements of all our favorite Christmas songs: O Come Emmanuel, Joy to the World, O Holy Night, Little Drummer Boy, and many others.
From San Diego, California, the band "Future of Forestry" draws their name from the title of a C.S Lewis poem. Eric Owyoung, lead singer and song writer, started the band "Something Like Silas" in 2000. After playing together for three years the band signed with Sparrow Records. In 2006, Something Like Silas changed their name to Future of Forestry and shifted into the 'Credential Recordings' division of EMI. Beginning in May of 2009, the band started releasing the first of three EP's that are collectively known as the "Travel Series." Veering from the saturated and homogenous pop culture, the band has cast out into deeper waters to draw from the essence of life in music. Future of Forestry has 6 CDs/EPs to their credit.
Seeing Future of Forestry LIVE is an experience that will take you to a higher level ... every time!!! When asked if they are as good as the promo videos we see, a well qualified fan gave me a very enthusiastic, "Better!" I don't know about you, but I want to make Christmas 2010 memorable and not just settle for whatever comes around. Future of Forestry is making this possible by swinging down to the small town of Ganado, Texas to do just that; change our perspective on the Holidays, and give us a memory to cherish for a long time.
