Kung Pao Kosher Comedy and El Rio Present... Comedy Returns to El Rio!
Now in its 6th year, this monthly (every 3rd Thursday) comedy show features an eclectic mix of comedians.
This month features: Paco Romane, Emily Epstein White, Kevin O'Shea, Jesus U. BettaWork, and Lisa Geduldig.
Paco Romane has appeared on Comedy Central, NPR, Nickelodeon, and is a critically acclaimed and award-winning comedian and filmmaker in addition to being an actor, director, writer, musician, and producer. He was twice voted "Best Comedian" by the San Francisco Weekly and San Francisco Bay Guardian. His comedy has been featured on: Huffington Post, NBC, NPR, Funny or Die, Youtube, Cracked, NY Times, KQED and countless others. Romane has been described as a mix of your favorite uncle with just a pinch of Jack Black. He was recently on Comedy Central's Drunk History and has written for the Gilbert Gottfried Roast and is a company member of SF's premier sketch comedy group, Killing My Lobster. He has acted in many films, plays, and commercials and can be seen in national IBM, XFINITY and ARCO ads and heard doing the voiceover for a national VISA commercial. Emily Epstein White performs her magical brand of standup all around New York City, the Northeast, and the West Coast. She has been featured in the New York Underground Comedy Festival, the 360 Comedy Festival, the Ladies are Funny Festival in Austin, TX, the She-Devil Comedy Festival, the Boston Globe, gawker.com, and she was on Good Morning America.
Kevin O'Shea, established in 1984 following the mergers of Steven and Cathy O'Shea, has been one of San Francisco's leading manufactures of mirth, laughter, hilarity and all around good times. He has been commonly described as clever, absurd, awkward but in a funny way and too smart for his own good. O'Shea has been seen on the Independent Film Channel and Comedy Central and was featured as one of the "30 Under 30: Comedians You Should Watch" by Splashlife and Funny or Die. He is a favorite at comedy festivals such as The SF Sketch Fest, The Burrito and Comedy Festival, Out of Bounds, and the Bridgetown Comedy Festival.
Jesus U. BettaWork has had the pleasure of rocking out a la stand up comedy with Oakland's Tourettes Without Regrets, Good Times In The Grotto with True Hustle Entertainment, The Rock n Roll Comedy Jam with The Affirmative Action Heroes, The Hella Gay Comedy showcases, and featured for the SF Queer Open Mic and the Oakland Queer Open Mic with Spectrum Queer Media, respectively. Catch him every first Tuesday of the month at the Brainwash Cafe in SF for the open mic and showcase magic that is the You Betta Work Comedy ¡Fiesta! Get ready for the 100% real fruit punchlines.
Lisa Geduldig is a local comic and comedy producer who's the creator, producer, and MC of a variety of comedy shows including Kung Pao Kosher Comedy (now in its 23rd year); Funny Girlz: A Smorgasbord of Women Comedians; The Color of Funny: A Multi-Cultural Comedy Show; and A Muslim, A Mormon, and A Jew Walk into A Bar: The Comedy of Religion.
