Out by Ten Presents Passion, Mystery and Talking Beasts: Joseph Keckler's Music, Mischief and Mind-Bending Stories
Out by Ten producer, Susan Seliger, presents Passion, Mystery and Talking Beasts: Joseph Keckler's Music, Mischief and Mind-Bending Stories.
The Village Voice named Keckler the "Best Downtown Performance artist in 2013."
THE TALENT: Storyteller and Singer Rolled into One
Joseph Keckler is a storyteller with a riotous wit and a singer with a majestic three-octave range that allows him to move from opera to ballads with astonishing fluidity.
He delivers his funny and piercing original narratives summoning every medium the law will allow -- music, video, prose, poetry and a face as elastic as Jim Carrey's.
Joseph, a trained opera singer, has performed his one-man shows in venues from BAM and Dixon Place to Joe's Pub, Merkin Hall and the New Museum of Contemporary Art and that doesn't touch on his European tour. He's been featured on BBC America and WNYC. His magical mix of music and absurdist multimedia stories have won him residencies at the MacDowell Colony and Yaddo artists' community as well as a prestigious fellowship from the New York Foundation of the Arts. And when you see him, you'll agree that he has only gotten better since then.
