Northstar Council Presents: Kanekoa Benefit Concert
Maui based music group Kanekoa (Ka-nee-ko-a) will be coming to Grand Forks, North Dakota April 17-19, 2015 to share some Aloha from the Hawai'iian Islands through music, storytelling, teaching, and cultural exchange. There will be a full show Sunday, April 19th from 7-9 pm at the Empire Arts Center. This is fund-raiser for Northstar Council, a state recognized non-profit whose mission is to empower indigenous people through research, education, and outreach. Northstar Council will be using the funds raised at this concert to assist in the creation of a permanent Native American Cultural Center, where Northstar will be able to continue to offer cultural programming and expand their services to the community of Grand Forks.
