Southfield Stories
When 9 high school students get caught in the rain at a bus stop, a high school girl who lives nearby invites them into her house to stay dry. They have a story-telling contest as they wait out the storm. The travelers include a high school football star and his loyal water boyfriend, an empowered feminist, a preacher's daughter and her wimpy boyfriend, a goth girl and her punk rocker boyfriend. The characters in their stories include baseball players, a warrior queen, a pirate, a witch, mean girls, a rooster, a science teacher and a police officer. The stories include ancient curses, murder, and a stuffed chicken. This is a funny and lively play, with lots of large-than-life characters.
