Stan Boreson 90th Birthday Tribute
Zero dockus, mucho crockus, hallabolooza bub, That's the secret password that we use down at the club!
Ja sure ya betcha, accordionist Stan Boreson, the "King of Scandinavian Humor," is coming to the Swedish Club! He will be at the Swedish Club LIVE AND IN PERSON to celebrate his 90th birthday.
You'll be brought back to a time when all that mattered was that you were home from school in time to see No-mo and the gang! If you don't know Stan, he had a hugely popular kids' show King's Klubhouse on King TV in the 1950s and 60s. Favorite characters on the show included: Grandma Torvald, Pepita the Flea, Victor Rolla (the singing phonograph), the Old Timer and his horse Nel, Myrtle Mopup, Chief Wetblanket, and (the 1962 Seattle's World Fair Era creature) Space-Nik. Who knows--some of these characters may show up for Stan's birthday celebration!! Stan also had national fame when he appeared on The Kate Smith Show and The Lawrence Welk Show.
The menu for the night has been set with Stan's favorites in mind. We will be serving a sit-down dinner of gourmet meatloaf, mashed potatoes, vegetables and salad. Reserved tables available for parties of 8 only.
