Mighty Uke Day 5 Workshop - Stuart Fuchs: Grooves from the Heart - Afro-Caribbean Syles for the Ukulele
The music of the Caribbean just feels good, right? Like a day in the tropics! The deep and heart centered vibrations of Reggae, Calypso and New Orleans music are very uplifting and they're easier to play than you might think. Kala ukulele artist & renowned teacher Stuart Fuchs will translate his studies of guitar, Afro-Latin hand percussion, and didjeridoo to the ukulele for a fun exploration of Caribbean styles. In this workshop you'll learn and experience the joyful grooves of Caribbean musical traditions of the African Diaspora. You'll learn fun and uplifting songs that are easy to play, new syncopated rhythms & strums, single note & harmony melody lines, body drumming (hambone) and more. The songs covered in this workshop are arranged for a Ukulele Band and everyone will have a part to play regardless of your level of experience. Be prepared to have a blast getting into the groove!! Open to ALL LEVELS of player, beginner to advanced
