Monday Night Foreplays: One Year AnnivHERsary Show
Light the candles, fill the balloons, and put your pointy party hats on, because Monday Night Foreplays (PianoFight's female-driven sketch comedy group) is turning an exciting one-year old this November, and is celebrating with their "One Year AnnivHERsary Show." Get your fix of smart, original "SHEketch" comedy and a showcase of ForePlays' best material to date, with this brand new show running every Monday at 8pm from November 1st - December 13th at Off-Market Theater (965 Mission Street between 5th Street and 6th Street).
Since its debut in November 2009, ForePlays has premiered seven original productions with over 33 jam-packed performances, putting their own unique spin on the largely male-dominated SF sketch comedy scene. In 2010, ForePlays has performed at the SF Improv Fest at the Eureka Theater, WomenROCK at The Independent, and the SF Theatre Festival at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
The "One Year AnnivHERsary Show" will cure anyone's "case of the Mondays" with ForePlays' best sketches, dance numbers, and variety acts. November's content will include dueling dictator chefs, a liquor cabinet coming to life, air band battling, and fan favorite "Clitoris: The Musical." ForePlays has become a platform for SF's best and brightest women in theater, music and stand-up comedy. The "One Year AnnivHERsary Show" will feature hilarious comedians like Emily Heller and Janine Brito, along with musicians Laura Weinbach and Rainbow Chair.
ForePlays is written, directed and produced by Ruth Grossinger, Nicole Hammersla, Kate Jones, Jessica Mele, Emma Rose Shelton and Derricka Smith. Joining them on stage are Jed Goldstein, David Levine, Gabi Patacsil, Rachel Rockwood, Meredith Terry and Duncan Wold.
