NY Dance Exchange

The NY Dance Exchange is the annual artists exchange between the CEC/Community Education Center and NYC based New Dance Alliance. The event presents an evening of dance and performance by an outstanding group of artists including up and coming and established artists from both cities. This season's Exchange brings to Philadelphia dancers/choreographers Vanessa Anspaugh and Regina Rocke, whose work has been presented extensively in NYC. The Philly artist is dancer/choreographer Zornitsa Stoyanova, director of Here[begin] Dance Co.

The CEC and the New Dance Alliance began collaborating through the artists exchange in 1983. The goal is to further innovative dance and performance, support artists and build audiences. The NY Dance Exchange, as the Philadelphia side of the exchange is named, is one of a very few opportunities for audiences to get up close and personal with NYC based artists. CEC Artistic Director Terri Shockley, "These are not the artists you are ever going to find at mainstream venues, but these are the artists creating the cutting edge work that makes the arts scene of NY."

Always provocative, bold and exciting, the NY Dance Exchange is a highlight of the CEC's performance season.
