TransportedSF Sacred Sites Tour w/Michael Rauner
A biodiesel/solar bus tour of sacred and unusual sites in San Francisco featured in "The Visionary State: A Journey through California's Spiritual Landscape" the critically acclaimed book by Erik Davis and Michael Rauner.
Michael Rauner and Erik Davis spent nearly three years crosscrossing the Golden State while collaborating on "The Visionary State: A Journey through California's Spiritual Landscape." Rauner photographed over a hundred sites where transformational, visionary, sacred culture helped shape the religious history of California. Rauner and Davis engaged in a long pilgrimage to photograph and research California's diverse and often iconoclastic spiritual culture. Remarkably, many sacred and unusual sites that played key roles in California's spiritual history are located in the Bay Area, particularly in San Francisco.
On Sunday, November 14th, you're invited to join photographer and storyteller Michael Rauner on a tour of the many spiritual microclimates of San Francisco.
The bus will be departing from the corner of Dolores and Chula Lane at 1pm and will return there at 5pm. Our day starts at 12:30pm in the Miwok Hut in the Mission Dolores graveyard (the ONLY graveyard still in SF city limits). This is optional and you will have to pay the museum's entry fee of $5 to get in. Otherwise meet in front of Mission Dolores on Dolores street and Chula Lane at 1pm.
