After Hours - All Ages Dance Party
After Hours
Friday, November 12
Doors at 7:30 pm / show at 8:00 pm
After Hours is an all-ages program at EMP|SFM designed by teens for teens.
The November event features an epic dance party in Sky Church from Bellingham's catchiest electro-rockers No-Fi Soul Rebellion, Seattle chiptune duo Kids Get Hit By Buses and DJs.
EMP gallery spaces will be open – record your own CD in Sound Lab, check out full-size spaceships in Battlestar Galactica: The Exhibition, and come face to face with Jimi Hendrix's famous white Stratocaster from Woodstock. After Hours activities also include NFFTY short film screenings in the Lounge, glow-in-the-dark button making, and more!
Presented in partnership with NFFTY (National Film Festival for Talented Youth).
Generous support for this program has been provided by The Wallace Foundation.
No-Fi Soul Rebellion are a man/wife band poised and capable of delivering a full-fledged dance party of epic proportions wherever they strike. Front man and sole songwriter Mark Heimer writes insanely catchy pop songs, snagging influences from rock, punk and soul and Oldies for music that does more than offer hooks galore and ample sing/scream-alongs.
Kids Get Hit By Buses create a unique blend of chiptune dance/electronica complete with full vocals and a variety of instrumentation. Their live performance is powered by theatrical stage antics and a high-energy presence that will get you moving to the beat.
