Hristo Vitchev / Terrence Brewer Quartet: "A Meeting of the Minds"
Come and join two renowned, award-winning, master jazz guitarists as they combine forces on one stage, Friday, March 27th, 8pm at the Sound Room!

Hristo Vitchev and Terrence Brewer have been friends and musical associates for many years now.  Over the years these master guitarists have been charting their own individual musical paths to success which have included several album releases for both with many weeks spent in the top 10 on various jazz radio charts, multiple music awards, and performances at the most prestigious jazz festivals.  Now the two have decided to come together, on one stage with a two-guitar-led-quartet showcasing the compositions and guitar playing that have garnered them so many accolades.  Rounding out the all-star quartet that night with be two musicians who are fantastic and in-demand players/band-leaders in their own right, Bassist Dan Parenti and Drummer Alan Hall.

BIOS
HRISTO VITCHEV: Hristo Vitchev is a modern jazz guitarist and composer from Sofia, Bulgaria. Now residing in the San Francisco Bay Area, Hristo leads his modern jazz duo, quartet, and quintet featuring some of the top instrumentalists in jazz. Hristo has toured nationally and internationally with a wide variety of formations and has also performed guitar clinics in Europe and Japan. He has written more than 270 original compositions, many articles on jazz improvisation, and a book on chordal theory and construction entitled Between the Voicings: A New Approach to Chord Building for Guitarists. The Hristo Vitchev Quartet's 2009 debut album, Song for Messambria (First Orbit Sounds Music) quickly received outstanding reviews by the international jazz community and was selected as one of the six best jazz albums of 2009 by E-JAZZ NEWS.

TERRENCE BREWER:Recently proclaimed by long-time music scribe, David Becker (SF Examiner/AXS.com), as the San Francisco Bay areas #1 Jazz Guitarist, Multiple-Award winning guitarist Terrence Brewer is a first-call and in-demand bandleader, record producer, concert performer, studio musician, and one of the San Francisco Bay area's foremost and sought after music educators.  Brewer instructs/facilitate master classes, clinics, workshops, and lectures for the likes of Stanford Jazz Workshop, SFJAZZ, The Jazz School, Jazz Camp West, and colleges, high schools, and middles schools throughout California. Brewer has produced and released 8 nationally acclaimed albums on the record label he started in 2005, Strong Brew Music. Those albums have had several top 15 and top 10 appearances on the national jazz charts. Brewer has also performed to sold-out crowds at the Monterey Jazz Festival, Yoshi's, and the SFJAZZ Jazz Festival.
