Bird Walk at Bloedel Reserve

Celebrate spring with an early morning bird walk led by Ted Anderson. Ted wrote a weekly column, "A Year of Birding in Bloedel" for the Kitsap Sun and on this guided walk he will help identify bird songs of species that are often difficult to observe. Bring binoculars! Space is limited. Suggested age: 8 years and older. Children 12 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Ted is a retired professor of biology, and taught at McKendree University for 32 years and for the University of Michigan's summer biological station for 20 years, where he frequently taught about the biology of birds. Ted holds a bachelor's degree in zoology from the University of Kansas and a Ph. D. in biology from Saint Louis University. He has been a Visiting Scholar at Wolfson College, Oxford University in 1992 and 2000, and has published two books by Oxford University Press: Biology of the Ubiquitous House Sparrow, From Genes to Populations and The Life of David Lack, Father of Evolutionary Ecology.
