PUNTO y RAYA

The first of two Los Angeles stops of the PUNTO Y RAYA US Tour. Drawn from over 200 submissions, this program features the 16 semi-finalist, finalist and awarded films from the PUNTO Y RAYA FESTIVAL's 2009 edition and also features the top three films of the 2007 festival. Hailed as "the most abstract festival in the world," PyR brings the best dot-and-line animation from animators, video artists, and VJs from all over the world. Filmmaker Larry Cuba and PyR organizer Noel Palazzo will be in attendance.

This screening is held in conjunction with the second program of Punto y Raya's "RETROSPECTIVE: Larry Cuba and Other Abstract Classics" on November 3 at Echo Park Film Center and is a part of LIVE VISUAL PERFORMANCE 2010, a month-long event celebrating animators, VJs and other artists who create and mix visuals in front of a live audience.
