Bad Film Appreciation Society #2
The Bad Film Appreciation Society presents:
What the #$%* Wuz That?!: A Blaxploitation Exploration.
In this program, we will examine the career of an iconoclastic African American filmmaker who thumbed his nose at the Hollywood system, "The Man," and, occasionally, common sense.
...
This man's films, like the man himself, refuse to be categorized.
A film that begins with the saga of a drug lord becomes a story about the power of education and avionics.
A gritty film about an ex-con back on the streets becomes a tale of eyebrow-raising super powers.
These wonderful/terrible films will be screened at the Neon Forest Gallery on Friday, November 5th @ 8:30 PM. The films will be preceded by a short lecture and oath ceremony. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.
Admission is $6 and is totally, completely non-refundable.
Parking Note: The Neon Forest Gallery is located at 1731 South Orange Ave. Across the street from the very yellow awning of Subway Sandwiches. For ease of access, we recommend parking in the lot of the doctor's office next to the gallery.
