Eric and Devon each make handmade movies: no cameras, no computers, just fingers and film. Each also make
music, and sounds, and over the past decade, together and apart, Ostrowski and Damonte have each evolved
their own idiosyncratic âprojectionist-gone-feralâ approach to presenting image + sound. Coming at their live
film shows from somewhat opposite poles, they are both still firmly rooted in DIY ethics of muckraking and
aesthetic magical wonderism. For this show, Eric Ostrowski of Seattle will perform âTwinkle,â featuring
multiple projectors accompanied by a fiddling whirling dervish through his megaphone and all the stars in the
sky. Devon Damonte of downtown Olympia presents âLi,â an odyssey through the ancient Chinese concept of
dynamic form in nature (the sister science to Feng Shui), performed on overhead projector, 16mm, macro video
feed, photocopier, and plastic Hawaiian tablecloth.
