gang of undead miscreants. Unfortunately for them their bungling police work gets them both killed in
the line of duty. All is not lost as Mortis and Bigelow are brought back to life by the Resurrection
Machine; the very same device that is used to reanimate the crooked criminal corpses. Now they have
precious little time to bring down the sinister organization tha's responsible, before they rot away into
worm food! Outrageous special effects highlight this weird horror comedy including a showdown with
headless roast ducks and a walking side of beef in a Chinese butcher shop!!
Danger Room Comics
THE BEING / Dir. Jackie Kong / 1983, USA / Color, 82min / 35mm
An evil creature lurks in the local disposal dump attacking all in its wake! In the small peaceful town of
Pottsville, Idaho the residents are unaware that their fair city harbors a monster of unspeakable horror.
The citizenry soon realizes that all is not well when a string of grisly murders occurs. Chief of Police
Mortimer Lutz teams up with a government scientist to solve the mystery, but when all the clues point
to the unbelievable conclusion that the murderer is a young boy mutated by illegally dumped toxic
sludge, they're stymied at every turn by the town's mayor who is worried about the potential economic
impact on the local potato industry. A staple of late night cable TV in the 80's, The Being is a cheesy
throwback to the creature features of old that really deliver the gory goods!
