Olympia Film Festival has the honor of presenting the Northwest premier of this hard boiled yet
heartfelt Jewish crime drama. Polish Bar creates a tapestry of characters and scenarios shifting between
the disparate worlds of strip clubs, drug dealers, Jewish orthodoxy, Dj culture and old school family
values. Co-starring Meat Loaf and Judd Hirsh, Polish Bar beautifully renders the gritty side of old
Chicago. The story follows a young aspiring DJ played by the up and coming Vincent Piazza on his
descent into a hell of his own creation that is as complex and in your face as the Polish neighborhood it
is set within. This film harkens back to the obsession with authenticity and masculinity of the 70's and
though it is set now, it evokes equally Saturday Night Fever and Mean Streets.
