On El Pardito Island we meet a family living the life of their ancestors. It is a simple life: they fish
when they need food; they dont have to go hungry like people in the city when there is no work. We
hear their stories as they go about the daily work of earning a living from the sea. But things change,
even here, and the seas bounty is not as limitless as it used to be. These small-scale fishermen, who use
every part of their catch, are not overfishing the seas, but commercial fishermen are. What does the
future hold for this village? Los Grandes del Pardito, a group of young cousins from the island, is
making their living on the mainland with their band, and their music is woven through this beautifully filmed small gem. Winner Golden Palm Award Mexico International Film Festival
