Poetry & Broadsides
From the collaborative games and experiments of the French Surrealists to what Denise Duhamel has called the emergence of a third voice of her collaborations with Maureen Seaton, working together on art as a cohort of meaning makers has a long and rich tradition.
In this 2-part workshop, we'll read examples of collaborative poetry, explore our collective voice through word play and language gymnastics, and polish our poems focusing on the primacy of image and compressed line. Finally, during Day 2 of our workshop, we will make letterpress broadsides of our poems.
Taught by Alexis Orgera (writing) and Ben Charbonneau (broadsides)
