Comedy Returns to El Rio! (Mon, Oct 11)
Kung Pao Kosher Comedy Presents...
Comedy Returns to El Rio!
Every 2nd Monday of the month @ 8pm at El Rio.
The next show is Monday, Oct 11th.
Comedian/comedy producer, Lisa Geduldig, (Kung Pao Kosher Comedy) began her stand up comedy career 21 years ago at El Rio in San Francisco's Mission District. She strives to produce multicultural, multi-everything comedy shows with the variety of shows she produces each year (Kung Pao Kosher Comedy, Funny Girlz, The Color of Funny). The line-ups are always a diverse cultural, gender, and sexual orientation mix, and her comedy productions showcase some of the funniest and smartest stand up comics from San Francisco and beyond.
The Monday, Oct 11th show features:
Carla Clayy, Brendan Lynch, Nick Leonard, Reannie Roads, Toby Muresianu, & Lisa Geduldig.
CARLA CLAYY is a native San Franciscan who has spent the last several years making people laugh all over the country. She won the Marshall's Women in Comedy Competition in 2001 and was awarded a guest spot at its Marin County show, sharing the stage with Paula Poundstone, Joy Behar, and Rene Hicks. Carla is a regular at The Punchline, Cobb's, and comedy clubs in such hot spots as Modesto and Chico and has shared the stage with Robin Williams. She is one of the funniest comics in the Bay Area.
BRENDAN LYNCH has established himself as a comedian to look out for in the Bay Area. He's had college crowds clamoring for extensions, and his performances at bars and clubs all over California have left patrons drooling in their drink minimums. Don't by deceived by Brendan's low-key manner. Prepare yourself for an outrageous slice outside the cookie cutter of life. Brendan's astute observational comedy will surprise you with its bold sarcasm and absurd twists.
NICK LEONARD started performing stand up at the beloved Josie's Cabaret in The Castro and has appeared all over the U.S. His comedy graced the prestigious 2004 Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. That same year, he was also voted one of San Francisco's top 10 comics by Karma.com. The former Cosmonaut and International Bon Vivant is the producer of the gay comedy showcase, QComedy.
REANNIE ROADS is an unemployed elementary school teacher forced to do stand up comedy due to cutbacks in education. She sings gentle, non-threatening, intelligent, thoughtful, powerful, hysterical feminist toilet songs. Described as "What would happen if Gracie Allen picked up a guitar?" Reannie entertains the masses with such hits as "Cellulite Dimple," "Everybody's Stupid When They're Stoned," and "Johnny Depp, a Love Song."
TOBY MURSEIANU ("Mora-Shaw-New") is a rising star in the comedy scene, with a style that is sharp and intelligent but relaxed and self-deprecating. He got his start while attending college in New England, performing at local clubs and colleges and becoming a popular alternative rock radio DJ. After graduating, he appeared in Walt Disney's Underdog, worked for National Lampoon Radio and Comedy Express Television, and has most recently been touring clubs and appearing in festivals across the West Coast.
LISA GEDULDIG is the creator, producer, & MC of a variety of annual comedy shows: Kung Pao Kosher Comedy; The George Bush Going Away Party; Funny Girlz; A Muslim, A Mormon, and A Jew Walk into A Bar; The Color of Funny; Comedy Returns to El Rio; and Charo.
