Barefoot Chamber Concerts continues its mission to help you start the weekend right. This Friday evening concert series is committed to musical excellence without the formality of the conventional concert setting. Concerts start at 6 p.m. and last 60-75 minutes without intermission. Light refreshments are available, and there will be ample time to move on to other evening entertainments.
On Friday March 18, 2011, Barefoot will present Agave Baroque (Aaron Westman, baroque violin; Shirley Hunt, viola da gamba, JungHae Kim, harpsichord; and Kevin Cooper, baroque guitar) playing "Cold Genius"; music of Purcell.
This exciting group of young players is rapidly establishing a reputation for virtuosity and adventurous programming. Their speciality is the diverse and compelling music of the 17th century, and in this program they present the lovely chamber music of England's most famous composer, Henry Purcell.
