Danceworks Performance Company and Milwaukee Opera Theatre, in association with Carroll University, reunite to take opera out of doors, with an adaptation of Purcell's 1692 masterpiece, The Fairy Queen. Titania, Oberon and a drunken poet inhabit the estate of the Lynden Sculpture Garden. As you stroll the grounds with them, expect to encounter masques and music for an unforgettable celebration of the solstice.
Resplendent with woodland fairies and other mythical, mystical characters, the production is an extravagant collaboration featuring 53 dancers, 12 singers, 6 instrumentalists, and 2 actors. Guest artists from both Danceworks and MOT range in age from 7 to 77.

The performance will be approximately 90 minutes in length.
Children under 10 years of age are free.
While some seating will be available for those who require it, audience members will stroll the garden. Dressing for the weather and wearing comfortable shoes for walking are recommended.
Picnicking is also encouraged. The Lynden Sculpture Garden grounds will open at 5:30, allowing guests to arrive early and enjoy the surroundings before the concert begins.
Parking: The Lynden parking lot will be reserved for shuttle drop-off and drivers with disabilities. Please park at the Park & Ride located just to the west of the Brown Deer Road exit of I-43. A free shuttle bus will run between the Park & Ride and Lynden. Shuttle service begins at 5:20 PM.
All sales are final. No refunds are available.
In the event of rain, every effort will be made to complete the performance, including playing in light rain. We will not cancel the performance in advance, and may hold the start time up to 20 minutes for rain to pass. There are areas to take shelter while we wait.
In the event that a scheduled performance is cancelled due to weather, you will be notified by email, and offered the opportunity to attend our rain date performance on June 21 at 7:00 PM.
