Undoing the Silence: Writing in "The Great Turning"
Sat. Nov. 6, 1 to 4:30 pm AND Sun. Nov. 7, 1 to 4:30 pm
Do you dream of WRITING to sustain our world—to make our planet, our society, families and workplaces more just and safe? Our voices are needed on internet sites, in articles, newsletters, pamphlets, and books, yet many of us hold back. This weekend workshop is a chance to join like-minded writers to strengthen our voices during this challenging time.
Bring notes, ideas, impulses, or a draft of something you'd like to work on plus pen and paper (or a laptop), questions, and a collaborative spirit. No special expertise required.
Louise Dunlap brings 45 years experience working with social justice-oriented writers In the U.S. and Africa. Her methods include freewriting, audience awareness, a group method for reviewing writing without activating self-judgment, and mind/body techniques from years as a yoga and meditation teacher.
Louise will draw on our connection with ancestors and the work of Joanna Macy to connect with each other and our positive energy for what Joanna calls The Great Turning.
Her book, Undoing the Silence: Six Tools for Social Change Writing, will be available at the workshop.
