Salon Saloon: Twin Cities Art & Culture Review 11/23
Part talk show, part arts and culture review, Salon Saloon invites local artists, designers, musicians and social entrepreneurs to the stage for an unpredictable, uninhibited conversation about creative life in the Twin Cities. Arts writer Andy Sturdevant hosts the show, which features stories, music, presentations and hands-on audience activities. For more info visit salonsaloon.info <http://salonsaloon.info> .
This month: The Television Show
It used to be so easy to be one of those people that went to cocktail parties and bragged, "Oh, well, I don't even own a TV." Then you would brush the dust off your suede elbow patches and seduce a professor's wife. How times have changed. Television has gone from something you pretended to not know anything about (despite secretly never missing an episode of "Hogan's Heroes") to something you read about all day on the Internet. So what could be the harm in spending a few more hours on a Tuesday night thinking about it? You'd just be at home reading recaps of "Breaking Bad" anyway.
Guests include:
+ Journalist/humorist HARMON LEON
+ Media archivist TOM OSZMAN
+ Visual artist/reality television icon MILES MENDENHALL
+ Independent video producers MPLS.TV <http://MPLS.TV>
+ Singer/songwriter ABY WOLF
+ writer/drummer JAKE MOHAN
And as always: the Salon Saloon house band (Katie Condon, Jake Mohan, Claire Tiller and Andy Fleser), and your host Andy Sturdevant.
