AKABAL THEATRE Revives UNDER MY SKIN May 21-22 Macha (WeHo)
Now in its 10th year, Akabal Theatre revives Under My Skin written by Emanuel Loarca, Fernanda Milán, and Victoria García Peña, directed and produced by Emanuel Loarca, executive produced by Laura Figueroa, choreographed by Beatriz Eugenia Vasquez. Under My Skin is produced in association with the Macha Theatre and is a guest production.
While at a wedding, six characters share their personal experiences, based on real life stories, about being different, being rejected, and just wanting to be loved unconditionally. This dramedy explores what lives under the skin of survivors of intolerance, homophobia, and transphobia enhanced with song, and movement celebrating the joy of culture, unbreakable faith and the power of self-acceptance. Performed in English and Spanish with subtitles in both languages.
