World Music Concert
For the third year in a row, we will be a part of Daniel Pearl World Music Days, a worldwide series of events using the power of music to reaffirm our commitment to tolerance and humanity. See www.danielpearlmusicdays.org. We'll be presenting traditional songs in as many languages as we can (our record to date is 26), sung by our members and others. So brush up your linguistic skills and come along! If you want to present a song, please email Heather Wood, hwood50@aol.com, or call (212) 957-8386.
[Daniel Pearl was an American journalist who was kidnapped and murdered by terrorists in Pakistan in 2002. He was also an accomplished classical violinist, country fiddler, and mandolin player who joined musical groups wherever he traveled. Daniel Pearl would have celebrated his 44th birthday on October 10th, and this concert honors him by carrying on his mission of celebrating our shared humanity through music.]
