please be prepared to give a short improvisational dance to be translated for the audience by your guide.
Please note that your guide is turning 30 and that she does not like cake.
This tour peels away the superfluous layers of New York City to get at its essence: Dance. History is movement is dance. Style is technique is dance. Story is narrative is dance. Tragedies caused injuries through dance. Fires were lit by Pyrotechnic dancers. Tenements were ruled by unhappy retired tap-dancers. Car chases in movies were shot by cameramen with profound grand allegros. The CGBG produced the world's greatest pop dancers, none of whom remain in our flighty, shared pop-cultural memory, all of whom were the true inspirations of the music to erupt there. Basquiat original work as SAMO was in retaliation against his Uptown dancing girlfriend. He later dated Madonna because he found out she attended ADF, and so she reminded him of his teenage love.
Everything in the world starts with the moving body. You know it is true. I know it is true. So let us celebrate it together, educationally, somatically, on the dance bus, in NYC.
