Hopeless Cases by the Brazen-Faced Varlets
HOPELESS CASES is a part of the Varlets' Exploration series, a program dedicated to the creation of new works within the company. HOPELESS CASES is a fictional work based on the history of women who were committed to insane asylums both voluntarily and involuntarily, for reasons both viable and fictionalized. From political activists and bold criminals, to lesbians and women suffering from psychotic breaks, HOPELESS CASES weaves a number of tales, several based on stories with local connection, including the infamous Cleveland Hill School Fire.
The performance will be directed by Kelly M. Beuth, and feature the writings and talents of Jennifer Gembka, Brittany Kucala, Kerry Alsheimer, Elizabeth Oddy, Theresa DiMuro Wilber, Jane Cudmore and Mike Beiter.
