CREATING FICTION FROM MEMORIES
Join the Writing Mums for a special workshop looking at turning our memories into fiction with award winning novelist Catherine Simpson.
ABOUT CATHERINE SIMPSON Catherine Simpson is a novelist, short story writer and journalist. Her debut novel, Truestory, is due to be published by Sandstone Press in 2015. A previous (unpublished) novel, Chicken Dust, was shortlisted in the inaugural Mslexia Women's Novel Competition.
Her short stories have been listed in the Asham Award, the Bristol Short Story Prize and the Bath Short Story Award and included in various anthologies, including 'Speak!' published by Appletree Writers Press. Her short story 'Cowpunk' is due to be included in New Writing Dundee 8.
She has an MA in Creative Writing from Edinburgh Napier University and in 2013 received a Scottish Book Trust New Writers Award.
Catherine has performed her work at the Edinburgh International Book Festival, the Winter Words Festival at Pitlochry, Portobello Book Festival and Appletree Writers' Spoken Word Sundays.
As a freelance journalist she has had articles published in many newspapers and magazines.
