Jacob Kaplan: 76, World War II refugee, retired and perhaps slightly confused, is frustrated by his failure to achieve greatness. The elderly German proprietor of a beach bar offers Jacob an unexpected opportunity. By kidnapping the German, he will recreate the capture and extradition to Israel of Nazi-in-hiding Adolph Eichmann. Jacob's accomplice is his driver Wilson, a slovenly, but sweet and loyal drunk, recently fired from the police force, in desperate need of cash to win back the wife who has thrown him out. These unlikely buddies scheme to avoid detection by Jacob's hovering family while executing their plan on a gorgeous Uruguay beach.
