Cookbook Potluck: Hot Sour Salty Sweet
Southeast Asian cuisine is an aromatic culinary delight. It is also one we find a little intimidating, which is why this month we are cooking from the approachable Hot Sour Salty Sweet. Written by husband and wife team Jeffery Alford and Naomi Duguid, this gorgeous book shows us how to easily cook the staple foods of Vietnam, Thailand, Laos and their neighbors. Go out and get some rice vinegar, fish sauce, and a hefty bunch of cilantro and get cooking!
Bonus: Hot Sour Salty Sweet is so pretty that it doubles as a coffee table book!
Rules are the same: Cook from Hot Sour Salty Sweet for the month and then bring your favorite dish to our potluck on Saturday October 23rd. We'll have cold beers and hot tea for you.
Note: If you chose the $50 ticket price, it includes purchase of Hot Sour Salty Sweet from Omnivore Books. If you want to pick up your copy before the potluck, simply go to Omnivore Books, located at 3885 Cesar Chavez Street in San Francisco, with your printed ticket confirmation. If you want to pick up your book at the potluck, no action is needed, we will have it for you at the event!
