Foraging for Fashion
Create a saturated array of colors sourced straight your very own garden, kitchen, or urban sidewalk. Sasha Duerr, founder of Permacouture Institute and author of the Handbook of Natural Plant Dyes, will show us how to cook with color, forage for fashion, and savor the joy of slow textiles. This hands-on workshop will engage you with everything you need to know to start experimenting with DIY dyes. You'll walk away with your very own slow textiles for fashion or food styling, freshly dyed farmer's market wool, and take home recipes for cooking to naturally spice up your home or wardrobe.
*Students should also bring one un-dyed foraged find of natural material (wool, silk, cotton, linen) from the back of their closets, linen piles, or local thrift store to experiment with! Material size: think pillow case or scarf.
