A Holding Hands Event: Dancing Around a Square
The Dance Complex & Green Street Studios announce a Holding Hands event: Dancing Around A Square is a mini-festival of performances featuring new and seasoned choreographers from region and beyond, including NYC's Body Stories:Teresa Fellion Dance
April will bring budding warmth and all things fresh and new. What better time to hold hands? The Dance Complex and Green Street Studios intend to do just that.
Building on the first ever joint concert between the two organizations last fall, Green Street and The Dance Complex will join forces again to produce several concerts of works, featuring new and established dance artists from the region and beyond.
In a weekend of events titled A Holding Hands Event: Dancing Around A Square, Lorraine Chapman, Executive Director of Green Street Studios, and Peter DiMuro, Executive Director of The Dance Complex, will curate works to be presented in several showings, from informal to formal, taking place on April 10, 11 and 12, 2015 at both organizations' studios, around the corner from each other in Central Square.
Among the artists will be BodyStories: Teresa Fellion Dance, based in NY and making its Boston debut. BodyStories: Teresa Fellion Dance is a contemporary dance company, capturing within their works universal human encounters through dynamic, purposeful movement. The company is a multifaceted, highly physical and the work is laced with provocative, political and humorous edges.
Programs will also include new works by companies in residence, mentor program participants and longtime artists with affiliations at both organizations, in informal and formal showings. Shows will rotate from each organizations' theatres, as well as within The Dance Complex's new ground floor studio/event space.
