The Wheatland Chorale: "NightSongs" Concert
...NOT A SINGLE ORDINARY MOMENT... Escape from the ordinary with a performance by the Wheatland Chorale. Known throughout the region for its "shimmering" sound, with artistic director Eric R. Riley, "this ensemble has reached new heights of artistry." The 46 singers of the Wheatland Chorale create a huge variety of color and texture, from thundering fortissimos to whisper quiet pianissimos; from the clear, lean voice-leading of Renaissance polyphony to the thick, tight harmonies of modern choral textures.
Our NightSongs concert series for Spring, 2015 features gorgeous music by some giants of the choral literature: Morten Lauridsen (Sure on This Shining Night, Soneto de la Noche), Benjamin Britten (the three-movement set called Reincarnations), up-and-coming composer Daniel Elder (Three Nocturnes) and Bob Chilcott (Requiem).
This concert will be presented at three different venues in Harrisburg, Lancaster and Wyomissing. Visit our website at www.wheatlandchorale.org for direct ticket links to the location of your choice!
