The Raleigh Boychoir - American Music Festival 2015
The American Music Festival is an annual event sponsored and organized by The Raleigh Boychoir. This event features music of American composers and writers.
For the 2015 American Music Festival, The Raleigh Boychoir will invite local music and choral teachers to participate. These participants will enjoy two workshops conducted by our festival clinician, Dr. Carol Krueger, Associate Professor and Director of Choral Activities at Emporia State University.
Schedule of Activities:
Friday, April 17
5:00-6:30 pm - Teacher Workshop: Developing Vocal Technique in the Choral Rehearsal: Warm-up (featuring The Raleigh Boychoir and Raleigh Young Men's Ensemble)
6:30 -7:30 pm - Dinner Break for Teachers (courtesy of The Raleigh Boychoir)
7:30 - 9:00 pm - Open Rehearsal: Dr. Carol Krueger with The Raleigh Boychoir (teacher observation)
Saturday, April 18
9:00 - 10:00 am - Open Rehearsal: Dr. Carol Krueger with Millbrook Men's Choir and The Raleigh Boychoir (teacher observation)
10:00 -11:30 am - Teacher Workshop: Rehearsal Techniques: Beyond the Notes (featuring Millbrook Men's Choir and selected Millbrook Madrigals)
10:30 am-12:30 pm - Open Auditions for The Raleigh Boychoir
11:30 am-12:30 pm - Lunch for Teachers (courtesy of The Raleigh Boychoir)
12:30-3:00 pm - Open Rehearsals with Heritage Elementary School Chorus, Millbrook Men's Choir, The Raleigh Boychoir, Raleigh Young Men's Ensemble (teacher observation)
3:00 - 4:00 pm - Break (snacks courtesy of The Raleigh Boychoir)
4:00 - 6:00 pm - Concert featuring all participating choirs (teacher observation)
