Faure Requiem
Kirkland Choral Society's 23rd season concludes with a perennial favorite: Gabriel Fauré's hauntingly beautiful Requiem, performed as it was originally intended---with organ and chamber orchestra---in two acoustically superb venues. "It has been said that my Requiem does not express the fear of death," said Fauré in 1902. "But it is thus that I see death: as a happy deliverance... rather than as a painful experience." In this concert KCS also celebrates the 200th birthday of Franz Liszt with his seldom-heard masterpiece, the powerful Missa Choralis. Don't miss this emotionally thrilling and deeply moving finale to another year of fine music from Kirkland Choral Society!
