The Amazing Colossal Mandolinvasion
MIKE MARSHALL
A virtuoso whose playing is as imaginative and adventurous as it is technically thrilling, Mike Marshall swings gracefully from jazz to classical to bluegrass to Latin styles, putting his own stamp on everything he plays. Mike performs Friday and Saturday nights along with Josh Pinkham.
CHRIS ACQUAVELLA
Chris Acquavella studied classical mandolin with British virtuosa Alison Stephens at Trinity College of Music in London, graduating with First Class Honors. He currently performs with guitarist Nathan Jarrell in Duo LaRe, a chamber music project blending classical and jazz sensibilities. Chris and Nathan perform Friday and Saturday nights.
EVAN MARSHALL
The acknowledged master of duo-style mandolin playing, Evan Marshall sounds like several of the world's finest mandolinists performing together. Evan plays a short set during Thursday's free lunchtime concert and a full set on Friday night only.
JOSH PINKHAM
Josh Pinkham first picked up a mandolin at age 11. Two years later, he won the Florida state mandolin championship and began drawing attention for his awe-inspiring technique and prodigious improvisational skills. A seasoned professional at 20 years old, Josh will share the stage with his mentor, Mike Marshall, on Friday and Saturday nights.
SEATTLE MANDOLIN ORCHESTRA
The Seattle Mandolin Orchestra is dedicated to revitalizing the mandolin ensemble and expanding its repertoire through commissions and arrangements. The orchestra's repertoire encompasses baroque, classical, jazz, and folk traditions. They will perform Friday night only.
EN MASSE ORCHESTRA
Convention attendees will assemble in the En Masse Orchestra. There's nothing quite like 120 mandolin-family instruments on stage all at once. Saturday night only.
