Slow Coffee
Slow Food Chicago is proud to announce our inaugural Slow Drinks event, Slow Coffee!
If you've ever wondered what sets a locally roasted and brewed cup of coffee apart from big chains, how to roast beans at home, and the art and science of creating an incredible cup of joe at home, this is the workshop for you!
Join us at Passion House Coffee Roasters for an introduction into their roasting process and an interactive "cupping," which is how they evaluate the coffee's quality and talk about the flavor of and method behind tasting different coffees.
We will also have Nick and Nicole Novotny of Printer's Row Coffee Company demonstrate different brewing techniques, the roasting process from the home roaster's perspective, including methods and a live demo, and their current business plans and where they hope to go!
But wait, there's more!
Jonni Dean, a barista who is dedicated to building community through coffee, as well as teach you the difference between popular coffeehouse drinks, show you how to make gorgeous latte art, and shape your understanding of what a barista is and how to better appreciate your neighborhood barista!
This event is going to be amazing, so bring your love of coffee and love of learning!
***THIS JUST IN***
After our event, please join us across the street for more conversation and cocktails* at local distillery, Rhine Hall! Devin Kidner of HOLLOW LEG will be whipping up coffee cocktails for your sipping pleasure.
*Please note that the price of the cocktails is not included in your ticket.
