DEAD MAN'S CELL PHONE
When a woman answers a ringing cell phone beside a man who is apparently sleeping, she initiates an odyssey that unreasonably involves her in the dead man's complicated life. She finds herself serving as the dead man's social secretary, learning that he had a frostily elegant mother, an emotionally estranged wife, a mysterious mistress, a lonely brother, and a sinister career. Her involvement forces the woman to confront her own assumptions about morality, redemption, and the need to connect in a technologically obsessed world. This 2008 dramatic comedy by Sarah Ruhl starred Mary-Louise Parker in its Off-Broadway premiere. For The Stage Company, "Dead Man's Cell Phone" will be directed by Jim Lambert.
