CSU Bakersfield Guitar Arts Series: Gregory Newton & David Grimes
The California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB) Music Department is thrilled to announce the first concert in a new series of events featuring the classical guitar. Gregory Newton and David Grimes will perform at 7:30 PM on October 9, 2010 in the Choral Recital Hall (Music Building, room 127). The CSU Bakersfield Guitar Arts Series is in its inaugural season and we could not think of a better pair of California-based guitarists to start our series off on the right foot!
Dr. Gregory Newton is the president of the American Guitar Society and Professor at three colleges in the Los Angeles area where he uses his great experience as a soloist and scholar to teach a new generation of guitarists. David Grimes is Director of Guitar Studies at CSU Fullerton where he has developed one of the nations leading centers of guitar instruction. This pair of distinguished performers have been performing and touring as a duo since 1998.
We are so pleased to showcase their undeniable talents at CSUB.
