THE WILD TABLE : Seasonal Foraged food
The wild edible lunch hosted by NYWCA member, Johanna Kolodny and Chefs Charles Rodriguez and Heather Carlucci-Rodriguez with The Wild Table cookbook authors Connie Green & Sarah Scott (Viking; Oct 2010; $40). A copy of The Wild Table will be included in the lunch.
This is an invitation into the romantic, mysterious, and delicious world of exotic, foraged food. Once overlooked by culinary aficionados, in the last decade the celebration of organic foods, farmer's markets, and artisanal producers has dovetailed with a renewed passion for wild delicacies. From four-star restaurants to Whole Foods, more and more wild food is appearing and gaining star status. On the forefront of the foraging movement is longtime "huntress" Connie Green, who sells her gathered goods across the country and to Napa Valley's finest restaurants along with long-time chef and recipe developer Sarah Scott. Print is a seasonally inspired farm-to-table restaurant located in Manhattan's Hell's Kitchen. The menu incorporates sustainable ingredients from New York area regional farms and local vendors sourced by our in-house forager. The cuisine evokes the sensibilities of cooking found in the southern parts of France and Italy.
