A new season opener for the Water Music Society, this first annual self guided tour puts the spotlight on the areas most beloved and showy native, the Rhododendron. For many years the Long Beach Peninsula was home to the the well known Clarke's Nursery, cultivators, developers and suppliers of heavenly Rhododendrons. While Clarke's Nursery is no longer in business their legacy literally lives on all around us.
AN OPTIONAL BREAKFAST AND 25 MINUTE PRESENTATION WILL BEGIN AT 10 AM AT THE HISTORIC SHELBOURNE INN IN SEAVIEW, WASHINGTON. The talk, given by Steve McCormick and John Stephens, will be built around the history of Clarke's Nursery, and the story of the Rhododendron. Joining them will be Dr. Clarke's grandson, Steve Clarke, owner of the continuing Clarke Nursery landscape business.
Space for the breakfast and presentation is limited to 40 persons. The cost is $15 per person. The Inn will offer six breakfast entrees accompanied by your choice of bread or muffin, coffee, juice, red potatoes and fresh fruit. Breakfast and Presentation tickets are ONLY available here online. Tickets for the Tour are available now here at Brown Paper Tickets OR at one of 2 locations listed below beginning one week prior to the event.
