King Lear
A new vision of Shakespeare's text: Bishop & Fuller as Lear and the Fool, with 20 puppets in a microcosm of entrapment.
Lear is the puppeteer of his own puppet show  in his mind the only real human in his motherless kingdom of power and commodity. His whimsical love quiz is absurd but sprung from desperate thirst: love is quantifiable merchandise for barter. Like Dante's damned souls, caught in a perpetual hell particular to each, Lear obsessively plays out his loss of power, friendship, shelter, sanity, and at last, hope.  The Fool is his withered soul, an acid clown who torments Lear, stage-manages his story and finally disappears into Lear's madness.
