Science: Fen Montaigne: Penguins as Predictors of Peril
For three decades, scientist Bill Fraser has studied the Adelie penguins in the rugged western Antarctic Peninsula. In that time, the region has warmed faster than any place on Earth, with profound consequences for the tuxedoed Adélies. Fen Montaigne, author of Fraser's Penguins, spent five months on Fraser's field team, discovering how rising temperatures are swiftly changing that part of the world—and how those changes will soon affect our lives. Presented as part of Seattle Science Lectures, with Pacific Science Center and University Book Store. Series sponsored by Microsoft. Series media sponsorship provided by KPLU.
