The Warehouse Presents: Julia Massey & The Five Finger Discount, Kye Alfred Hillig, & Pete Jordan
Julia Massey & The Five Finger Discount: Julia Massey & The Five Finger Discount is a sweetly trippy, magical musical trio led by dreamy flaxen-blonde vocalist/keyboardist Julia and flanked by her happily-raging rhythm section, Geoff B. Gibbs (bass) and Dominic Cortese (drums).
It's no secret The Monarch Review loves Julia Massey and her band The Five Finger Discount. So, here is but the next chapter of our adoration! The band recently released their new album, A.L.I.T.E.. It's a beautiful record, thoughtful, playful, rich with excellent musicians and style. The band, which aims to write children's songs for adults, does just that, providing sweet sonic textures while also inspiring our mind to think about our planet, relationships with people, and the pure fun of what it would be like to hang with these Seattle creatures. -The Monarch Review-

Kye Alfred Hillig: Playing several shows for the Warehouse in recent months. He's one of our local favorite and has just successfully finished a campaign to see his newest record "The Buddhist."
The Buddhist has been described by Kye Alfred Hillig as a collection of songs with the singer attempting to "tear down the walls that metaphors can create". Honesty and openness is prevalent in this collection of songs that was written in just a week and a half with the help of bandmate Daniel G. Harmann. It's quite fitting that musically the songs are also naked with just Hillig's passionate vocals and intricate guitar playing and occasional backing vocals from Harmann. -Folk Radio UK-

Pete Jordan: Pete is part of Cloud Person, a 5-piece rock band from Seattle that blends psychedelic, garage, folk, and indie sensibilities into a unique brand of their own.
Blending elements of roots folk, classic rock, gospel, and psychedelia, what really stands out to the listening ear is the haunting minor key chord changes often paired with a poignant phrase in big three part harmony. The guitar and violin dance around the melody of every song while Jordan's full throated vocals lash out against the new status quo of modern folk, which tends to equate spirituality and meaning with "otherness," by describing daily life with all the plain ferocity of a blue collar union organizer. -The Stranger-
